.AN AREA OF HEAVY RAIN DEVELOPED THIS MORNING ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA. IT WILL PERSIST FROM SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA INTO THE TWIN CITIES METRO. SEVERAL INCHES OF RAIN MAY BE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING IN SOME SPOTS. THE GROUND IS NEARLY SATURATED IN MANY AREAS... AND STREAMS AND CREEKS ARE ALREADY HIGH...SO FLOODING IS CERTAINLY POSSIBLE ACROSS RURAL AREAS. PROBLEMS MAY ALSO DEVELOP AROUND HIGHWAYS AND OTHER ROADS... ESPECIALLY IN THE TWIN CITIES METRO.
HEAVY RAIN MAY BE A POSSIBILITY LATER TONIGHT AS WELL... SO STAY AWARE OF THE FORECAST IN CASE ADDITIONAL FLOOD WATCHES ARE NECESSARY.

Stalled Front. NWS Doppler radar at 1 pm shows a band of heavy showers and T-storms, pushing slowly northward at 10 mph. These storms are capable of torrential rains over the next few hours, resulting in minor flooding. If you live in a flood-prone region stay alert and stay tuned for more updates.
