Storm Warnings south/east metro (flash flood threat remains)

Update: 10:47 pm. Tornado warning: Olmsted county (Rochester area). Severe storm warnings in effect for the following counties: Goodhue, Dakota, southern Washington, Pierce, Dunn, Pepin, Wabasha and Buffalo counties - threat shifting from south metro into west central and southwestern WI - tornado risk has diminished for immediate metro - rotation showing up south/west of Rochester area, where an isolated tornado can't be ruled out.

* Tornado touchdowns reported in Winnebago, Vernon Center and Hartland - call moving into Rochester area has a history of dropping tornadoes.


Update: 10:10 pm. Tornado warning canceled for Scott county - still in effect for Dakota county. Doppler-derived rainfall amounts of 2-3" across much of the southwest metro - potential for flash flooding remains for the next 1-3 hours. The heaviest rain should be out of the immediate metro area by 11:30 pm. Be alert for tornadoes (southeast metro) and the entire south metro will see significant flooding in the coming hours.
